Throwing it back to one of my favorite/most memorable weddings of all time. Let's start here - Andrew & Caitlin are sweethearts - but more than that - they have KILLER taste in music. So often as DJs, we here the same monotonous songs over and over and over again…so…when are eyes are opened to new and unique offerings, it can be like discovering fire. Full truth in disclosure - the playlist from this wedding is the only one I still have in my Serato (professional DJ software) to this day. Ceremony music I provided for the couple included tracks by the Black Pumas & Pretty Lights and SO much other cool stuff to set the mood for a memorable evening. After the couple said I do - they exited the ceremony to Galantis' "Never Felt A Love Like This" and the tone was set! The ceremony and reception took place at the lovely New Vintage Place in downtown Grand Rapids - with Annie Dalton serving as the event coordinator. Following the second floor ceremony, guests where ushered downstairs to the cocktail hour where the were once again treated to an amazing soundscape designed by the couple - a mix that included Kygo, Sinatra, The Temptations, and JOHNNYSWIM to name a few. Additionally, they enjoyed taking photos in our social booth. Once the doors to the reception hall opened, Mr. & Mrs. Wilterink arrived in style to the pulsating “I Found You” by Cash Cash. The cake was cut, toasts and blessings given, and a dinner buffet by Peppino's catering was served - as dinner music selections ranging from the Foo Fighters to John Legend augmented the ambiance. Following dinner the couple hit the dancefloor for the first time as husband and wife to the Lumineers' “Sleep On The Floor.” Andrew & Caitlin then shared dances with their mother and father (respectively) and then it was time to party. From the first song til the end of the night, guests were treated a packed dancefloor and eclectic hits. Wedding staples like Whitney Houston were seamlessly blended with more obscure (yet still crowd pleasing) tracks from the couples “Must Play List,” making for an unforgettable evening. As the night came to an end - undoubtedly exhausted from a night full of love, laughter and dancing - guests gathered outside to bid the couple farewell with a sparkler sendoff. This was truly one to remember fondly.
“Brevin was hands down one of the best vendors we selected to work our wedding. Every step of the way, he was professional, knowledgeable, and all around great to work with. His setup allowed for very customized and personalized playlist throughout the ceremony and reception. Almost a year later, friends and family still talk about the amazing music, and how fun Brevin was. We would recommend him 100% to anyone.” - Andrew Wilterink
